SANITATION SCHEDULE CHANGE
** Holiday Trash Pick up Notice: During a week, if any of the following holidays fall on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, that week’s trash pickup will be on Friday. These Holidays are as follows: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
The Town of Tyrone provides sanitation services for Tyrone residents only. This service is contracted by All South Robertson Sanitation. If you have any questions regarding this service please call Town Hall at 770-487-4038.
Curbside service is scheduled for each Thursday. Containers must be placed on the curb no later than 6:00 am Thursday mornings to ensure pick up. Please bag all garbage before putting into container. If you are missed please call Town Hall before noon on Friday.
Currently, service is $42.00 a quarter, due on the 1st of each quarter. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed if paid after the 15th of the month. If not paid by the 1st of the following month starting February 1, 2010 a $10.00 reinstatement fee is required. Late payments must be made before noon on Wednesday prior to Thursday’s pick up. For notification please refer to your quarterly sanitation bill.
Yard debris collection for those choosing not to mulch or compost their own yard debris should follow the following guidelines. Limbs must be in bundles of less than 50 pounds and may not exceed 4 feet in length or 6 inches in diameter. Grass clippings and leaves must be packaged in paper and/or biodegradable bags. These bags are available at local stores including Publix, Kroger, Winn Dixie, Cub Foods, Target, Wal-mart, Lowes and Home Depot. Place yard waste at curbside by 6:00 am. Collection will occur on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month.
The following items will be picked up: Glass, Newspapers with inserts, broken down cardboard boxes(no extra large boxes), #1 PETE plastic, #2 HDPE plastic, aluminum cans, steel cans. Please note on the #1 and #2 plastics all containers must have a neck. Please flatten plastic containers, remove tops and rinse out.
The following items will not be picked up: cardboard boxes, plastic bags, motor oil bottles, mirrors, light bulbs, coffee cups, magazines, phone books, tissue paper, cereal boxes.
Large pick up
The last Thursday of each month All South Robertson will pick up one (1) large item such as dishwasher, washing machine, sofa, etc. For any questions please call Town Hall.
Due to landfill regulations All South Robertson cannot pick up the following items: tires, car batteries, paint cans, roofing shingles, construction materials. Refrigerators must be completely drained of all freon and appropriately tagged before pick up.
